God's Love For All Mankind on Christmas

God loves all people. His great love to the man realized by sending His only Son into the world. The child was conceived by a virgin named Mary. His birth brought joy to many people. The love of God was greeted with joy by the shepherds hurried to Bethlehem to see the baby as preached by the angel of God. The same was done by the wise men from the East. After finding the place he was looking for, "they entered into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and worshiped him" (Matthew 2:11 a).
That baby grew into a large sanctuary in the upbringing of his parents' love. He is "increasingly large and growing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Lk 2:52).

Unconditional Love of God

God is love (cf. 1 Jn 4:8.16 b). The entire activity of God is an act of love. He declared himself in love to man. He loves people without distinction. He did not demand anything from the human condition before declaring his love. He loves the righteous and the wicked and they are never out of His love. Thus, God the Father in heaven, "his sun on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust" (Matt. 5:45).

All people have sinned and sin makes man was separated from God. As a result, people lost glory as the children of God (Rom. 3:23) and are not worthy to live with God. Punishment must be received by the sinner is separated from God, "for the wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23).

However, Jesus was willing to suffer in order that we are freed from death, and we are considered righteous by God. Jesus was willing to bear it all because He loves us and see all men as friends. Jesus showed His love by giving His life for His friends. His words, "There is no greater love than the love of a man lay down his life for his friends" (Jn 15:13). So God "gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" and he had "sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save it through Him" (John 3:16-17).

It is clear that "not that we loved God, but that He loved us" (1 John 4:10). God does not wait for man to love himself and then he would love them. He loves people even sinners and Christ died when humans were yet sinners (Rom. 5:8). Jesus came into the world and live among humans not because man is good. Instead, he willingly left heaven's glory and sacrifice himself precisely because of human sin and unable to break away from the bondage of sin. The presence of Christ as a human being in this world invites us to love like God. Word became flesh to be our example in love. As the God who reveals his love in Christ, we are reminded to love others simply because we want others to be happy.
